You can order from us packs of fuel for use with the eco-stove at Carrick. You can do so when booking, or later.
Each pack is sufficient for, typically, three evenings. This is shows what makes up each pack :
The price we have to charge for these products is significantly higher than they can be bought for in, say, Ayrshire or Essex, due the heavy surcharges for delivery to remote areas, especially by ferry to the outer islands.
If you want to purchase fuel yourself, to bring with you to Carrick, the brand of product may vary from those shown here, but the type of product must be essentially the same. The stove may not be used with any other type of fuel! You will need one fire log for each time you light the stove. For an evening, six to nine heat logs will probably suffice, but if you want the stove to burn all or most of the day, you will probably need about 18 heat logs.
These fuels may be stocked by the Co-op at Daliburgh or Creagorry, or Lovat’s supermarkets at Carnan (north end of South Uist) or Balivanich (Isle of Benbecula). This is less likely to be the case April to October.
